PhotoMath for Android Lets You Solve Difficult Math Problems with Your Camera

I'm not a fan of this practice, but many developers release their wares on iOS before eventually porting their apps to Android. This was the case for PhotoMath, a popular and very useful app that can solve math problems with your smartphone's camera.

The app is incredibly intuitive and easy to use, so I'll just give a brief rundown of its capabilities here. If you'd like to read more about the topic, check out Nelson's guide on the iOS version, which works identically to the Android version that was released earlier this month.

PhotoMath is completely free, so search the app by name on the Google Play Store to get it installed. Or, If you'd rather jump straight to the install page, use this link instead.

With the app installed, solving complicated math problems should be easier than ever. Just make sure the equation is printed, rather than handwritten, then line up the viewfinder with the problem you're trying to solve.

The math problem will be automatically detected, and solved almost immediately. If you'd like to see exactly how PhotoMath arrived at a given answer, simply tap the result at the bottom of the screen.

It only took PhotoMath a few months to bring their awesome app over to Android, so their developers have been putting in some hard work lately. How has the app worked for you so far? Let us know in the comment section below, or drop us a line on Facebook, Google+, or Twitter.

Yes, as long as the equations are typed out.

So we won't comprehend the process for reaching solutions. Will tomorrow just be populated with observers and no thinkers? Seems that would be bleak and boring. Surely there will be SOME people who will still want to know how and why and welcome the challenge!
