Android Gear Smartwatches Are Ready for Your Wrists

Google I/O 2014 is currently going on in San Francisco, but as the conference rolls on, the Android Gear smartwatches continue to be one of the hotter topics.

LG G Watch

The LG G Watch is a square smartwatch with 280x280 resolution, 36 hours of battery life, water resistance, and either a black or white design.

Although it has no buttons, it sports an "always on" functionality that can tell when it is being raised, brightening the screen so you can check the time, notifications, or perform commands. The LG G watch will cost you $229 and is currently available for pre-order.

Samsung Gear Live

The Samsung Gear Live is the second offering for Android Gear, with Samsung continuing the Gear branding from its previous smartwatches. With a 278ppi SuperAMOLED display and a 300 mAh battery, there's plenty of juice available for the "always on" screen.

IP67 certification means the watch and dust and water resistant, so it's perfectly fine to wear in the garden or shower. The Gear Live is available for pre-order now, priced at $199.

Moto 360

The Moto 360 is the only round watch of the bunch—hence 360—and is composed of stainless steel and a leather band.

This one is also water resistant, but as of now, there is no set release date or pricing information. Altogether, the Moto 360 is the sexiest of the bunch (unless you're a fan of rectangles), and the one I'm most looking forward to sporting on my wrist.
